Let's talk about a "new normal." - By: @mindingwithin

Mini bio: Fernanda Sarmento is the owner of @wise_and_fun, a self-development addicted, writer and digital marketer. With a bachelor in Social Communication and Media Studies and a master in Production Engineering she regards herself as both a meditation and ice cream junkie.

There's no way around it: everybody is talking about COVID-19, so let's dive into that... actually... let's jump out of that for a second!

What I want to talk with y'all today is to reflect about the life AFTER corona virus. I know it's still too early to expect the virus not to be a threat anymore, but I've heard so many people talking about how life will never be the same again. These two questions sparked in my daily meditation that I feel like sharing with this community.

So grab your pen and paper (or just write down here in the comments)

1) What has not changed with the COVID-19? 2) What are the lessons you don't want to forget? Let me tell you my answers (not all of them are good, but that is part of it): 1) What has not changed with the COVID-19?

  • My love for my family and friends

  • My meditation routine (can't say the same about allllll my self-care - ooops)

  • My desire to help people (right now I have a 21 days of distance Reiki project that I'm really proud of) https://wiseandfun.com/services/

  • My inability to focus and do what I got to do (My gosh, not even a quaratine locked at home can get me focused!)

2) What are the lessons you don't want to forget?

  • How good it is to talk more often with my friends and how much difference a video call makes (instead of just texting) - since I live abroad from my home country I never get the chance to actually see those people anyway, but on a regular basis we just never take the time to use video)

  • How precious fresh food is

  • That I don't need so much food

  • How good it is just to walk outside

  • How amazing logistic professionals are and how they deserve to be more recognized (and many many others such as bus drivers, post offices, branch staff at banks, independent retailers, etc.)

  • How noble are all health professional

  • Everything can change really fast

What is that useful for? To help you stay aware of what matters to you, who you really are, and hold you accountable for this experience... this is the way to let it be more than a memory, transform into learning about yourself and your life. See you next time!

Thank you Fernanda for sharing this with us all. I'm going to get my journal out and ask myself these same questions.
